Oshawa Airport
The airport originally opened in June 1941 under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan as No. 20
Elementary Flying Training School RCAF Station Oshawa. Student flyers used Tiger Moth aircraft and
were trained by civilian instructors from the Oshawa, Kingston, and Brant-Norfolk flying clubs.
A few of the original bldgs still stand at the south end of the airfield including aviation & military museums
Lakeview Park
Beachfront Park includes Historical Buildings, Bandshell, Jubille Pavillion, Pier and Lighthouse
and is a regular stop for large freighter ships and an occasional visit from a Canadian Forces Destroyer

McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve
In 1990, General Motors of Canada Limited celebrated the construction of their new "green"
Canadian Corporate Headquarters as well as the creation of the McLaughlin Bay Wildlife Reserve
Named after the automakers' founder, Col. Sam McLaughlin the Reserve occupies in excess of 41 ha (108 acres)
of land. A series of 11 trails connect to the Second Marsh Wildlife Area and Darlington Provincial Park.
